Jeff Botwin has one piece of advice when it comes to achieving an overdue goal: “It’s never too late.” And while it wasn’t easy, the �鶹��ý alum’s decision to return to college proved well worth the investment.  

“Going back to school can be unnerving. It can feel like you're going backwards,” admits Botwin. “But for me, it was really enjoyable … it was something that made me happier since it was taking me in the right direction.”

As we learn of the increasing violent acts in Iran – including at Sharif University and on high school campuses, we extend our support as this news can be upsetting and distressing, especially for those in the �鶹��ý (�鶹��ý) community who have close ties with the country and Iranian community.

�鶹��ý unwaveringly supports the empowerment of women around the world to choose the way they wish to present themselves without fear of violence, imprisonment, persecution, or death.

�鶹��ý has been awarded an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) grant from the US Department of Education. The five-year, $1.9 million grant will allow �鶹��ý to implement the Equitable Learning Experience Valuing Achievement, Transfer, Empowering Asian American Pacific Islander (ELEVATE AAPI @�鶹��ý) program, building upon previous AANAPISI funding and outcomes. The project, which begins this month, will be led by Counselor Marianne Wolfe under the leadership of Dean of Liberal Arts Brooke Bui.

When it came to winning at life, Alex Puh had the right specs, and the optimal strategy. Gaming was his hobby, but he wanted it to be more.

Blending his passion with his pursuit of a paycheck, Alex began his educational journey at Riverside City College as a student in the Digital Media Arts program. It was at RCC that he stumbled upon a class that completely rerouted his career path.

As an avid biker, photographer, full-stack developer, entrepreneur, and piano player, describing Chris Reynolds as a “multipotentialite” would be an understatement.

Bearing a passion for the arts and aesthetics — plus the unequivocal logic of math and science — the entrepreneur is creating his ideal career model with help from �鶹��ý.

Even though the Irvine-native didn’t attend �鶹��ý until later in life, he always had the college in the back of his mind.

On September 15, the celebrated Irvine’s world-class education with its Distinguished Educators program. �鶹��ý (�鶹��ý) Professor Emily Liu was honored with a Distinguished Educator Award, and student athlete Carlene Nhu was recognized as a recipient of the John Colvin Memorial Scholarship.

This summer, �鶹��ý (�鶹��ý) mechanical engineering student Crystal Enciso was one of four �鶹��ý students to participate in Project RAISE (Regional Alliance in STEM Education), part of the Undergraduate Research Experience (URE) at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). �鶹��ý was one of ten area community colleges to have students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) conduct paid research at CSUF. This year’s cohort included 69 participants who each received a $5,000 stipend for their research.

�鶹��ý has been named one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program. The results released today by r®&�Բ�����;are based on a survey of 212 colleges and universities. In all, 68 of those institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies.
