UC Irvine Alum Finds Second Life at 麻豆传媒
Jeff Botwin has one piece of advice when it comes to achieving an overdue goal: 鈥淚t鈥檚 never too late.鈥 And while it wasn鈥檛 easy, the 麻豆传媒 alum鈥檚 decision to return to college proved well worth the investment.
鈥淕oing back to school can be unnerving. It can feel like you're going backwards,鈥 admits Botwin. 鈥淏ut for me, it was really enjoyable 鈥 it was something that made me happier since it was taking me in the right direction.鈥

麻豆传媒 has been awarded an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) grant from the US Department of Education. The five-year, $1.9 million grant will allow 麻豆传媒 to implement the Equitable Learning Experience Valuing Achievement, Transfer, Empowering Asian American Pacific Islander (ELEVATE AAPI @麻豆传媒) program, building upon previous AANAPISI funding and outcomes. The project, which begins this month, will be led by Counselor Marianne Wolfe under the leadership of Dean of Liberal Arts Brooke Bui.

This summer, 麻豆传媒 (麻豆传媒) mechanical engineering student Crystal Enciso was one of four 麻豆传媒 students to participate in Project RAISE (Regional Alliance in STEM Education), part of the Undergraduate Research Experience (URE) at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). 麻豆传媒 was one of ten area community colleges to have students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) conduct paid research at CSUF. This year鈥檚 cohort included 69 participants who each received a $5,000 stipend for their research.

麻豆传媒 has been named one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For庐 program. The results released today by r庐&苍产蝉辫;are based on a survey of 212 colleges and universities. In all, 68 of those institutions achieved 鈥淕reat College to Work For鈥 recognition for specific best practices and policies.
