Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Senior Administrative Assistant Amy Hunter was selected as a California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) Classified Employee of the Year late last month. This prestigious honor has been awarded annually since 2009 to community college employees who demonstrate the highest level of commitment to the Vision for Success. This year, five employees from across the state were selected for this award based on their leadership and commitment to equitable student outcomes.

In addition to being selected to receive the 2021 Classified Employee of the Year Award, Amy was selected as Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s Classified Employee of the Year and recognized by the South Orange County Community College Board of Trustees resulting in her nomination for the statewide CCCCO Classified Employee of the Year.

Amy currently serves as a senior administrative assistant within Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s School of Business Sciences. She is the definition of a model Classified Employee of the Year. Over the past two years, she has taken on participatory governance leadership roles as Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Classified Senate President, board member with the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Foundation, and Âé¶¹´«Ã½ COVID-19 incident command team member. Amy's initiative in leading by example is demonstrated with her role in Caring Campus where she engaged with Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s classified professionals to champion Caring Campus. Her shepherding of this program has been instrumental to Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s successful program implementation.

Amy represents classified professionals in an excellent manner with her well-rounded attitude, optimism, and professionalism and she is well-deserving of college, district, and state-wide recognition.
